Some excellent images here of Gettysburg. I remember on my first visit to the battlefield in 1989 being surprised to find a tumble of canon and carriages lying in the woods on the reverse slope behind Lee's statue. They were gone next time I visited. But it did give a sense that this battle was only just recently concluded. I don't have a collection of photos anywhere like the quality you have here - but the initial impact of Gettysburg on me I have attempted to capture here http://pickledeel.blogspot.com/2006/11/high-water-mark-of-confederacy.html
